If the key is stuck in the door, you should be on your guard. The reasons for blocking the key can be both harmless and pose a very real threat to your life and your property.

Situation “Stuck the key in the lock.” Why did this happen?

  • Keyholes are damaged. If at least one of the elements is deformed, then the key is no longer suitable for opening the lock. Therefore, never use a wrench instead of a corkscrew or screwdriver);
  • The key was made of poor quality materials or the duplicate key was made incorrectly;
  • The lock lacks lubrication. Corrosion has blocked the stroke of the levers or the secret combination in the cylinder. When the key is turned in such a lock, the mechanism is blocked.
  • Foreign objects could get into the castle. Most often these are matches, candy wrappers, glue.

And the most important thing! If the key is stuck in the door, they may have tried to open the lock with a master key. In this case, it is important to quickly take measures to replace the lock and enhance its protective properties. Glue in the lock, by the way, can also be a sign of the attacker’s work. Be careful, most likely you will need to replace the door locks.

The key is stuck in the lock. How to remove a stuck key?

There are several proven methods that masters use daily. We warn you that before the arrival of the master, in order not to completely break the key and keep the secret mechanism of the expensive lock intact, it is better not to try to extract the key yourself.

So what to do if the key is stuck:

  1. Kerosene or WD-40 spray will help. They need to spray into the well or inject liquid, for example with a syringe.
  2. After 4–5 minutes, start slowly turning the key to the right and left. Movement should not be abrupt. We do everything neatly and smoothly. Your mission is to distribute the liquid inside the secret mechanism without breaking the lock.
  3. Re-introduce liquid into the lock
  4. Again wait 10–15 minutes
  5. Now you need to slowly try to turn the key to the right and left, while you need to pull the key a little towards yourself, and not away from you.

If the key does not give in and does not even turn 2–3 millimeters to the sides, then you need to either repeat all the steps again, or call the wizard to extract the key and then replace the lock.
